[OPEN LOW]Lab tech does not follow type of patient restraint Empty [OPEN LOW]Lab tech does not follow type of patient restraint

Tue May 19, 2020 11:52 pm
I've built a large hospital where it is necessary to have multiple labs.  Particularly one for clinics and one for hospitalized.

I've set blood lab and micro lab for clinics to be closer to clinics and ER out patients clinic and the tech stationing there to suppose to only process clinic patients (where patients go to the lab and stay in waiting room.  While the labs for hospitalized patients to be right next to observation ward and next to elevators that leads to other levels of wards, and all the techs there are set to take care of only hospitalized patients.

However, after establishing the in patient labs, I find my clinic techs to walk across half the map to observation ward's equipment cabinet then proceed with 5 minutes straight of "handling samples".  When I click the tech and see which patient is under its care, it is a patient in the observation ward (hospitalized).  While all that is happening, my techs in the in patient labs are idle doing nothing.

unfortunately, running separate in-patient labs is not feasible at this point. I do believe that under the auspices of 1 lab you can take and assign specific roles to those technologists.

Hi and thank you for your report. The roles "clinic/hospitalized" were introduced for technologists at radiology and specialized units, in labs the samples don't carry over the information whether they belong to a hospitalized patient. So technically they should be named something like:
- Lab tests/Clinic patients
- Hospitalized patients

We are now currently exploring options to enable it even for the labs and we will let you know.
